Project Notes

Recently, we have had a number of projects that have involved brave clients willing to boldly change their property. With this lovely old colonial home at Sandgate, the owners decided to paint out the natural timber throughout; and chose an in-trend, neutral colour that was contrasted with bright white trims.

It was popular many years ago to have a different colour in every room. This may have been an attempt to create an atmosphere or mood for each room. According to today’s trends, the consensus is that this creates a busy and disjointed look and feel. Often the darker colours of the past contribute to a dark and dingy feel overall.

The team managed to step into the current colour & design trends, while still being sensitive to the fact that it is a beautiful old colonial home. The owners of this Sandgate property were amazed by the results.

The owners plan to remove the carpets and polish the natural timber floorboards before tastefully furnishing it.
