There are a number of reasons why someone would decide to take on a “do-it-yourself” project. Many people love learning a new skill or enjoy gaining a sense of achievement when they do a task themselves. Others do it to meet new friends or simply as a way to pass the time. However the most common answer given is that it saves money.

Typically a painter will be twice as fast as someone doing a DIY project. Not to mention the cost of making a mistake whilst learning how to paint and having to do it all again. Finally there is the value that should be attributed to the undoubted difference in painting quality that will occur between a DIY painting job and a professionally painted one.
